Copyright & DMCA Policy

Obteno respects copyright. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement relating to material stored on the Platform at the direction of a user — uploaded photos and images, uploaded video and its transcripts, and generated products held in a user's account.

1. Reporting infringement

If you believe material on Obteno infringes a copyright you own or represent, email support@obteno.com with the subject line “Copyright Notice”. To be effective, your notice must include all of the following:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
  • Identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it — a direct URL is best.
  • Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

Incomplete notices delay us. Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.

2. What we do when we receive a notice

We act expeditiously. On receiving a valid notice we remove or disable access to the material, notify the user who uploaded or generated it, and pass on a copy of the notice. We do not decide who owns what — we are not a court. Our role is to remove promptly, tell both sides, and restore material if a valid counter-notice goes unanswered.

3. Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to support@obteno.com. It must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district where you live (or, if you are outside the United States, of any district in which Obteno may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who gave the original notice.

We will forward your counter-notice to the person who complained. If they do not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity, we may restore the material.

4. Repeat infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. An account that is the subject of repeated valid notices may be suspended or closed without refund of any unused portion of a subscription.

5. Designated agent

Email is the fastest route and the one we monitor. If you need a postal address for service, request it at the address above and we will provide it.

6. A note on AI-generated material

Obteno's tools generate material from the instructions and inputs you give them. You are responsible for what you upload and for how you use what you generate — including checking that any name, brand, image, quotation or excerpt you supply or publish is one you are entitled to use. Generated output is not a clearance check.

Separately, and this is a point of law rather than of policy: in the United States, material generated entirely by AI is not protected by copyright, because copyright requires human authorship. Selecting or refining prompts, however detailed, does not by itself create a copyrightable work. Your own writing, edits, images and creative choices remain yours.
